Connex Configuration Specialist

Our team works directly on our core transaction processing platform, on large scale projects like major system upgrades through to small system enhancements. The team consists of collaborative experts – Architects, Programmers, Configurers, Support Specialist, System Programmers and Operators. We need Customer Obsessed NonStop Connex Configurers to collaboratively design, develop and enhance both new and existing products and services that will meet our customers’ requirements, anticipate customer demand and ensuring their requirements are met. Based in Auckland CBD, this role will report directly to the Manager – Core Technology What you are going to be doing: This is a configuration role where you will be expected to pitch in across a number of different tasks and activities. In a normal week though you should expect to be spending most of your time on: Maintenance of NonStop Connex configurations to a high standard – you will be following production, productivity, quality and time recording standards; identifying workflow process improvements and implementing new technology Collaborating with project managers, business analysts, testers and end user customers including acquirers, terminal vendors, schemes, corporates and gateway providers Regularly reviewing and maintaining key development tools and practices – you’ll be carrying out peer/formal reviews of source code and supplementary documentation and contributing to best practices and our internal knowledge base Maintaining applications by ongoing monitoring, escalating high impact/unresolved incidents, implementing fixes and proactive measures to ensure an uninterrupted service to our merchant base. Applying continuous improvements to application software by diagnosis of failures and shortcomings, working with suppliers to resolve inadequacies, enhancing software and implementing regular NonStop Connex application upgrades to improve overall service. Applying best practice techniques to the implementation and delivery of projects and change control ensuring the highest quality of outcomes and deliverables with the stated goal of exceeding customer expectations. Providing best of breed support of application software through provision of second level support to Paymark’s key production applications and educating other team members and users. Managing application integrity by thoroughly testing all software supplied for installation in the Paymark environment to agreed procedures and ensuring compliance of the systems environment with Paymark security standards and change control procedures. What you can expect from your team: Our Core switch team works closely together in a collaborative manner. They work across the business to find and develop solutions for our customers, translating those solutions into technical specifications and also provide second and third level support for transaction, card and host testing and configuration. They come from a blend of backgrounds, with the majority of our team developing into our switch roles from other areas of Paymark – bringing with them an in-depth knowledge of how our software and business performs and how to take care of our customers. Do you qualify? Minimum of 5 years experience as a Tandem EFT specialist Operational knowledge of standard GUARDIAN utilities & sub-systems such as SPOOLCOM, PERUSE, TMF, NETBATCH, SCF, CMI, TPM, OMF, MEASURE, ENFORM, VHS, VIEWPOINT, PATHWAY, SAFEGUARD, FUP. Excellent knowledge of standard Tandem application languages such as TACL, Enform, TAL, SCOBOL, COBOL. Experience within financial industry desirable Experienced in principles and practices of Project management and change management In-depth knowledge of the Tandem hardware architecture. An excellent understanding of CONNEX applications and architectures Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills so you can communicate technical language to non-technical audiences Open to willingly collaborate and share your knowledge and experiences with other members of the team – we are United!
